OLD YORK CELLARS WELCOMES HEADLINER: Norm Klar

Headlining Comedian: Norm Klar

Norm Klar

Norm Klar, “..that comedian who does magic”.  From screamingly funny to strangely macabre sit back and take the ride with Norm as he blasts his way through what many of his peers say is one of the best all around comedy acts on the East Coast. Regarded by most magicians as a charlatan of the craft they often refer to him as “the man who does to magic what Joan Rivers did for Plastic Surgery”.
Most recent notable performance was with Leon Redbone at the Sellersville Theater to great reviews. He has been an opening act over the years for the likes of Tim Allen, Rosie O’Donnell and the late great Mr. Soupy Sales.

Feature: Michelle Tomko

Featured Comedian:  Michelle Tomko

Michelle is a stand-up comedian, actor, fellow, arts commissioner and freelance writer. She has received the Atlantic City Weekly Nightlife Award for “Best Comedian” the past five years in a row. Last year her performance art piece was an official selection for the city-wide art festival 48 Blocks Atlantic City. Tomko, or as she is know across social media, Tomkomedy has been seen locally and in various venues around the country, as well as NPR & TMZ. She has opened for Suzanne Westenhoefer, Johnny A. Sanchez , Chaz Bono, and Demetri Martin. As a writer, she has written everything from movie reviews to trade articles to poker columns. Currently Michelle covers local events in AC, Philadelphia and New York for the entertainment platform The Thread SJ. During the pandemic, she finally learned how to use Zoom. Tomko’s comedy is a fervent blend of tomboy sensibilities courtesy of the older brothers she grew up with in the Midwest and the barrage of perimenopausal chaos the East Coast world has heaped upon her. She pulls her humor from everyday observations and classic stories of family, travel, pets, and adversity. With razor-sharp crowd work and improvisational skills to the rock-solid timing of a veteran performer, Michelle’s act is not to be missed!

Old York Cellars Welcomes Two Headliners: Joseph Anthony & Coleman Green

Joseph Anthony

Joseph’s father was an Italian Immigrant, who entered the United States just after WWII and began his career as a Longshoreman at the age of 17. He quickly climbed up the management ladder. His mother was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised Joseph on: delicious dishes, overbearing love, inherent O.C.D. … And incidentally, had a mean right hook – for someone who stood only 4’ 11!”

Surprisingly, being raised (in part) by his five older sisters who frequently opened Joseph’s mind up to such things as: how to use a hot curling hair kit, cleaning the crevices of wood furniture, and being a constant (mini) Hustle practice partner, all with the absence of any brothers and a father determined to figure out the fine art of betting, he (Joseph) was no stranger to the ways of the streets, but also enjoyed a quiet retreat to read and write at a very young age. The results you say? He can hold court with both Harvard and Sing Sing prison alumni, just the same. Yet despite his upbringing, he belongs to no one particular group, class, click, or innate stereotypes, as it were. In the world of entertainment, he’s simply referred to quite often as: VERSATILE – TALENTED – FUNNY – SMART!

Joseph studied writing style and screen writing at the New School for Social Research, in New York City. He learned the basics of filmmaking at the College of Staten Island, NY. He studied the Meisner technique of acting under Joanna Beckson (Ray Romano’s teacher), herself a student of the famed Actors Studio.

In January of 1990, he stepped onstage at PIPS Comedy Club in Brooklyn, New York. He immediately found the avenue for all three of his artistic passions – writing, acting and stand-up comedy. Today, Joseph is a frequently requested performer/headliner at the most well-known comedy clubs and countless venues in the Northeast and around the country.

Old York Cellars Welcomes Two Headliners: Joseph Anthony & Coleman Green

Coleman Green

Coleman Green who’s known in the Philadelphia comedy scene has quickly increased his comic opportunities nationally and internationally.

A rising star, Coleman Green is no stranger to the entertainment world. Gracing the stages of many venues, clubs and corporate events, Coleman has managed to find the common link between all races, ethnicities, cultures, and incomes. He’s a stand-up comedian, actor, writer and producer of his own animation series.  He has the ability when needed, to bring his comedy into the roles that he often portrays. His ability to make you laugh is certainly a talent that cannot be taught.

One of the fan favorites is Coleman’s portrayal of a pink pixel in the Optimum iO Pixels television commercial. Look out for Mr. Green because he’s coming to a stage, TV or large screen near you!

Old York Cellars Welcomes Headliners: Scott Baker & Vinnie Mark

Scott Baker & Vinnie Mark

Scott Baker

Scott has been a constant on the comedy scene for the better part of 20 years as a world class headliner.

As part of the award-winning comedy team of Isaacs and Baker, Scott has been fortunate enough to grace the stages of some of the best theaters, resorts, and comedy clubs in the country. Places such as Tropicana Atlantic City, The Borgata, Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods and Caesars resorts (among many others) have welcomed him back time and time again. Along with his partner Al Isaacs, Scott and Al have set the record for the most appearances by comedians at Woodloch Pines Resort, which has been voted one of the top three family resorts in the country by Trip Advisor.

As a former NYPD police officer and boxer, Scott takes great pride in giving back to charities, especially first responders and veterans. Scott has paid out of his own pocket to rent a theater putting on a show with all the proceeds going to the Fealgood foundation that helps sick first responders. Throughout the course of his career, Scott has helped raise over one million dollars for various charities with his performances.

Scott’s theory of “never making fun of but having fun with” has made him and his partners fan favorites and kept them in demand for many years.

Baker says, “People pay good money to be entertained and forget about all the crazy and anger in the world…Let’s have them leave smiling, enjoying the evening and feeling good about themselves…Life is for living!”

After many years of success with the comedy team of Isaacs & Baker, Scott convinced Long Island comedy legend Vinnie Mark to join the show. Scott says, “I saw Vinnie 20 something years ago doing a version of what we do now. I just tweaked and modernized it. I have admired him ever since, not just as an entertainer but as a person.”

Country Club Comedy Shows was born out of our love for using the audience in the show, for the unknown on stage and giving back to charities.

Along with writing several books, teaching improv to schools, camps, and corporations for better communication, Scott also has a hit TV sitcom “Midtown“ on Amazon.
VINNIE MARK

Comedian Vinnie Mark’s best trick is to change traditional magic into non-stop laughs before your very eyes. Vinnie Mark delivers joke after joke, gag after gag, and leaves audiences on their feet with a real, live straitjacket escape. Las Vegas slick and Sunday school proper, alchemist Mark transforms audience participation, one-liners and a few surprises into pure platinum.

Mark’s television appearances include The Rosie ‘O Donnell Show (NBC), Late Night with David Letterman (NBC), Stand-up Spotlight (VH1) and Fox T.V.’s Comic Strip Live (Fox). He can also be seen in the film Grown Ups (Adam Sandler).

Vinnie Mark has performed at many of the nation’s best venues such as Las Vegas’ legendary MGM and Caesars Hotels, Atlantic City’s prestigious Caesars and Borgata Hotels and the Pocono’s Caesars Hotel. In addition, he regularly entertains passengers on the Royal Caribbean and Norwegian cruise lines.

Mark has “opened” for comedians Rodney Dangerfield, Gilbert Gottfried and David Spade as well as the musical group Crosby, Stills & Nash. He has also toured with country singer Randy Travis. In addition, the USO enlisted Vinnie to entertain troops in Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

He is an original member of the “Laughter Company,” an improvisation group that included Rosie ‘O Donnell and Bob Nelson.
