As a blogger, one of the biggest questions people usually have is how to make money blogging. I get it—having a blog is cool, and maybe you’re even enjoying writing as a hobby, are royalties always passive income at the end of the day, it’s always going to be just a hobby unless you start making money online.

That said, I understand how difficult it is for beginner bloggers to make money because they don’t have a target audience, and they’re just trying to grow. I’ve been there myself.

Amazon Associates

You can apply to Amazon Associates. Not everyone knows this, but if you link from your blog to a particular product on Amazon and a reader from your blog clicks on that link and purchases it, you’ll make a commission from that product. 

The problem with the Amazon affiliate platform is that they pay very little compared (% in most cases) to other programs out there, but I still make $ – $ per month with this platform. The reason is that although the commission rate is low, Amazon does an unbelievable job at converting people.

Use Google

If you like a product or service and want to recommend it to people, but you also want to make money blogging from blog monetization, check with a simple Google search. Whether you know this or not, nearly all websites use Google for monetization.

How to Start as an Affiliate

Generally speaking, you want to have about people visiting your blog each day. You need this because you have to have some traffic to get approved for an affiliate program.

2) Consulting Services

ClickBank

Once they do that, a segment of your followers will happily buy a course that you create. I’ve done this myself and have a free course I offer that eventually leads to a paid course.

How to Start Selling Online Courses

1. Choose a topic relevant to your blog

The first thing you want to do is choose a course topic relevant to your blog. For example, I talk about online business on this blog, so it would make sense to create a course on affiliate marketing or do keyword research and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)because it’s all related. 

2. Outline your course and think of exercises

Next, you want to outline your course and think of exercises for your students to complete along the way.

For those who don’t know, I’m a college professor on the side of this whole “online business” stuff. Because I teach, I know from personal experience that having exercises will make students retain the information more, and it also has a higher perceived value.

You won’t hear many other folks talking about creating exercises along the way, do blog sites make money, but I assure you that it’s a great idea and will help your students greatly.

3. Film your course

Then you’ll want to film your course. It could just be PowerPoints with you talking over them, but frankly, that’s pretty boring. When I started and created my first course, I was looking for an affordable platform, and you can’t beat free, and that’s what Thinkific offers. Of course, they earn money when you sell a course, but the cut they take is very reasonable.

Use your own website.

Another way to sell your course is to do so on your own website, which is hard because you’ll have a limited amount of people when you start. You have to figure out how to get the people to purchase the course, which is a challenger, but I’m living proof that it can be done.

Udemy

The next alternative to that is Udemy. Udemy is a huge marketplace for courses, and I still have some courses hosted there myself.

I used to make about $ a month there. It’s a great place because it has a huge amount of students. 

There are millions of students there, and they’ll even market your courses for you if they’re good. The problem with Udemy is that the entire student population is trained to buy courses for $10 each.

Because Udemy was built out as a discount platform, most students (including myself) will just wait until the courses go on sale for $10, which is often. That’s the biggest problem as an instructor on the Udemy platform. Your courses will be sold for a fraction of what they’re worth.

I like this platform as a student, but I’m not a fan of it from an instructor’s perspective.

Set up your course (I recommend that you use Thinkific)

After you’ve chosen where you want to host your course (I recommend that you use Thinkific), then you can set up the course and go through the process of uploading videos, do blog sites make money, practice materials, exercises, and everything you need to create the course. 

Promote your course

At this point, I’ve found a lot of success with display ads (Over $,+) because I have a lot of traffic. Of course, you can check out my income reports to see the total numbers, but display ads are where most of my money comes from.

How to Start Displaying Ads (Using Google AdSense and Othe Ad Network)

1. Sign up with a Display Ad Network

I recommend that you join Ezoic as it’s the best network out there for display ads, do blog sites make money I use it across all of my own sites as they have the best revenue optimization on the market.

Of course, you can also use Google Adsense or www.oldyorkcellars.com, but my testing shows they don’t perform as well as Ezoic, do blog sites make money. So if you want to see my comparison between these two platforms, here’s a breakdown.

2. Put Ads on Your Website

Once you’ve been approved, you need to put ads on your website. This sounds complicated, but it’s super simple.

Next, you need to promote your current content through social media and make sure people know you have this content. Or, if you’re already ranking with SEO, that’s the ideal situation. Consider using some of these SEO tools to help if you&#;re not.

4. Create new blog content

Professional network

Bloggers that have been at it for a little while want to know how to better monetize their blogs.

Your Mom (or maybe even your spouse) wants to know how do bloggers get paid.

The answer is really quite simple.

How do bloggers make money?

The same way everyone else does: by offering something of value in exchange for money.

Which means before you can start making money on your blog it has to be a valuable place on the web. The type of value you blog has to offer will differ on how you want to monetize your blog.

There are five main ways bloggers make money: ads, affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, products, and services.

In this article I am going to break down what each of these so that anyone can understand how bloggers make money and get paid.

Although they might be the “competition” becoming an affiliate for them could be a mutually beneficial relationship.

You can sell their product and talk about it on your blog. This will help you earn and income and help them generate more sells. Often times, when you write your review + affiliate post the blogger will share your post with their audience (because it’s promoting them). This will help you grow your audience as well.

So not only are you making money but you are increasing your reach!

How a blogger is payed from a sponsored post depends on how the connection between the brand and the blogger starts. If the blogger and brand are communicating directly with each other, the company pays the blogger directly.

If the blogger finds a sponsor opportunity through a sponsor network, then the network pays the blogger.

I’m actually surprised that the blogging world doesn’t talk about this one more. But, it is a great way to make money online and not have to create your own product.

Pay close attention to their questions and struggles for future content and product ideas!

When you&#;re just starting out it is easier to reach out to specific individuals than to try and market your email list or social channels.
