Old York Cellars Vintner’s Club FAQ Sheet
Question: Why are you making changes to the Club?
Answer: We are very proud of our Vintner’s Club, now finishing its third full year. During the past three years we have added new locations and new wines, and after receiving feedback from a number of Members, we have decided to offer new features to our Club.
Question: What are the changes to the Club?
Answer: We have added four major innovations to our Club: 1. We have added a monthly pickup option to our current semi-annual pickup or shipping; 2. Monthly Members may exchange their monthly selections for other OYC wines; 3. All Club wines (both monthly and semi-annual) will be offered at a discount; and 4. We have added a new level to our Club (the Gold Level) that will afford greater discounts to members who commit to purchase two bottles a month or 12 bottles twice a year in our Semi-Annual Packages.
CURRENT MEMBER INFORMATION
Question: I am happy with my current Club benefits, do I need to do anything?
Answer: You do not have to do anything if you wish to continue to receive the six bottles twice a year. We expect that many of our Members will want to continue to receive six bottles twice a year like they do now. If you want to continue in our current club, you will automatically be placed in our Silver Level to receive Semi-Annual Wine Packages.
Question: If I don’t make any changes to my Club Membership, will my benefits change?
Answer: Members that joined prior to 2020 will be entitled to the NEW DISCOUNTED pricing for Semi-Annual Club Packages starting in 2020 and will retain ALL their current benefits until March 15, 2021. After March 15, 2021, there will be some changes to benefits to Members that joined prior to 2020 who continue in the Silver Level.
Question: If I wish to choose the Monthly Wine Selection Option or upgrade to the Gold Level, how do I do that?
Answer: To move from semi-annual to monthly selections or to switch from current Club plan to Gold Level, just stop by the Winery or our Bridgewater Commons Mall location during normal business hours or email email@example.com.
Question: If I am a current Member and I choose the Monthly Wine Selection Option or upgrade to the Gold Level, when do they take effect?
Answer: If you are a current Club Member and you would like to receive monthly wine selections or upgrade to the Gold Level, your first wine selections under those options will not start until the following month, unless you specify that you want to receive monthly selections earlier. If you upgrade to the Gold Level, you will be entitled to other Gold Level benefits from the day you upgrade.
Question: I am a current Member, why should I upgrade to Gold Level?
Answer: If you choose to upgrade to the Gold Level Membership you will receive a larger discount on your Monthly Wine Selections or Semi-Annual Wine Packages as well as a 20% discount on all other cases (12 bottles at a time) of wine purchased. There are also additional benefits available to Gold Level Members.
Question: Is there a fee for current Members to choose Monthly Wine Selections or upgrade to the Gold Level?
Answer: There is no fee for current Members to move from Semi-Annual Wine Packages to Monthly Wine Selections or to upgrade to the Gold Level. You will only be billed for the wines according to the option you select.
Question: If I am a new Member, when do I receive my wine selections?
Answer: New Members who choose the Monthly Wine Selection Option will receive their first selections in the month after they sign up. All new members who choose the Semi-Annual Wine Package Option will receive them in April and November of each year starting in 2020, if you sign up by the end of the month prior to the shipment.
Question: If I choose Monthly Wine Selection Option, what happens if I cannot pick up my selection in the month it is offered?
Answer: Members can pick up their monthly wines at any time, but are only guaranteed the monthly selection during that month it is offered. If the monthly selection is no longer in stock, Members may choose another OYC wine in accordance with the Wine Exchange Rules. No refunds will be offered if the monthly selection is no longer available at time of pick up.
Question: If I am a Gold Level Member, Can I pick up the two bottles per month at separate times?
Answer: Gold Level Members must pick up both bottles at the same time.
Question: If I am a Member, may I open one or more of the club wine selections at the winery or other locations?
Answer: If you are picking up your wines at one of locations, you may ask one of our wine stewards to open one or more of the bottles for you to consume on premises. Members are not permitted to open bottles themselves at our locations. And no other alcohol other than OYC wines may be consumed at any of our locations
Question: Can I get my wine selections shipped to me?
Answer: You must choose the Semi-Annual Wine Package Option if you would like to have your wines shipped to you. Additional shipping charges will be applied. We can only ship to the following states:
District of Columbia
If you choose the Monthly Wine Selection Option, your wines must be picked up at one of three locations.
Question: What are the Club Fees for new Members?
Answer: There is a one-time $50 initiation fee to join the Club. However, the fee is discounted to $25.00 with a purchase of $25.00 or more at the time of signing up or the fee is waived with the purchase of a $150.00 or more at the time of signing up.
Question: What are the monthly charges if I choose the Monthly Wine Selection Option?
Answer: If you choose the Silver Level (one bottle per month), you will be billed $21.00 each month (or $14.50 each month for Sweet Wine Selection). If you choose the Gold Level (two bottles per month) you will be billed $38.00 each month (or $27.00 each month for Sweet Wine Selection). Prices subject to change upon advance notice.
Question: What are the semi-annual charges if I choose the Semi-Annual Wine Package Option?
Answer: If you choose the Silver Level (six bottle twice a year), you will be billed $130.00 in March and October of each year (or $90.00 in March and October of each year for Sweet Wine Selection). If you choose the Gold Level (two bottles per month) you will be billed $235.00 in March and October of each year (or $165.00 in March and October of each year for Sweet Wine Selection). Prices subject to change upon advance notice.
Question: When am I billed for the Club wines if I choose the Monthly Wine Selection Option?
Answer: Monthly wine club members are billed between the 22nd and 28th of the month for the next month’s selection.
Question: When am I billed for the Club wines if I choose the Semi-Annual Wine Package Option?
Answer: Semi-Annual members are billed three weeks prior to selection pick up dates. Once in Fall (October) and Once in Spring (March) of each year.
EXCHANGING WINE SELECTIONS
Question: If I choose the Monthly Wine Selection Option, can I exchange the monthly selections for other Old York Cellars wines?
Answer: Yes! If you choose the Monthly Wine Selection Option and do not wish to take the monthly selection, you can exchange the wines for another OYC wine priced at $24.00 or less at the time of pick up only. If you would like to exchange the monthly selection for a wine priced above $24.00, all you need to do is pay the amount above $24.00. For example, if you would like to exchange your monthly for a bottle priced at $30.00, you may do so and pay the difference of $6.00, plus tax. Members do not receive any credit for exchanging a monthly selection for a bottle of wine that is less than the $24.00.
Question: If I choose the Semi-Annual Wine Package Option, can I exchange one or more of the bottles for other wines?
Answer: No, we are a small winery and do not have the capacity to exchange bottles purchased as part of our Semi-Annual Packages.
Question: How do I change my wine package to a different package?

Question: Can I change my wine package to a different package?
Answer: Yes, you can change to a differnt package. You will need to email us at email@example.com to let him know what package you would like to change to.
Question: Can I cancel my Membership?
Answer: Members who choose the Monthly Wine Selection Option may cancel on or prior to the 20th of any month after the second billing cycle. Monthly members are committed to monthly selections for at least two months. Members who cancel after the 20th of any month will still be billed for the next month’s selection and their cancellation will go into effect the following month. Members who choose the Semi-Annual Wine Package Option may cancel after they receive their second semi-annual package. Cancellations after a semi annual billing date will not be effective until the following billing date.
Question: How do I cancel my Membership?
Answer: Members Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to cancel your membership.
Question: Can I purchase a club membership for somebody else?
Answer: We offer both 3-month and 6-month Silver Level memberships as gift items. Gifted memberships include all of the great discounts and benefits. Recipients may change or upgrade their gift memberships.
Question: Can I switch from a Silver Level to Gold Level or Gold Level to Silver Level?
Answer: You may switch from a Silver Level to Gold Level or Gold Level to Silver Level at any time prior to the 20th of a month if you are a monthly Member and prior to a billing date if you are a Semi-Annual member. Changes after those dates will apply to the following billing date.
Question: If I am a member, what discounts do I get at Old York Cellars?
Answer: In addition to discounts on your Monthly Wine Selections or Semi-Annual Wine Packages, Members are entitled to discounts on additional purchases of wine, food, merchandise and events at Old York Cellars. Discounts vary for Silver Level and Gold Level Members.
