Membership Questions & Answers

If I initially chose the Virtual Cellar Plan, can I switch to the Vintner's Curated Plan or vise-versa?

To switch plans,  you can stop by the Winery, call us at 908-284-9463 or email club@oldyorkcellars.com.

Is it possible to change my club level from Silver to Gold?

Yes, members can change their memberships by contacting us at club@oldyorkcellars.com.  Your benefits will update as soon as we complete the upgrade which is done within 1-2 business days.

If I switch my plan or upgrade from Silver to Gold, when do these changes take effect?

If you are a current Club Member and haven’t already picked up your wines, these changes will go into effect 1-2 business days after you inform us of the changes.  If you have already picked up your wine for the month, then your benefits won’t start until the following month.

I am a current Member, why should I upgrade to Gold Level?

If you choose to upgrade to the Gold Level Membership you will receive larger discounts including  15% off your wine by the bottle & food at the winery and 25% off cases of wine PLUS free shipping for 12 bottles to any of the states we ship to.

Is there a fee for current Members to change plans or membership levels?

There is no fee for current Members.

TIMING/SHIPPING

When do I receive my first wine selections?

New Members who choose the Virtual Cellar Plan will receive their first selections in the month after they sign up.  All new members who choose the Vintner’s Curated Plan  will receive them in April and November of each year, if you sign up by the end of the month prior to the shipment.

What happens if I can't pick up my selection in the month it is offered?

Members can pick up their monthly wines at any time.  Virtual Cellar Plan members will have their wines cellared by us until it is convenient to pick up.  We offer FREE shipping for 12 bottles.  Vintner’s Curated Plan members can also pick up at their convenience, however, members are only guaranteed the winemaker’s selection during the pick up season.  All attempts to recreate the packages after said time will be attempted but some wines may be out of stock and be substituted.

If I am a Gold Level Member, Can I pick up the two bottles per month at separate times?

Gold Level Members must pick up both bottles at the same time.

Can I open one or more of the club wine selections at the winery?

If you are picking up your wines at the winery, you may ask one of our wine stewards to open the bottle for you to enjoy on premises.  Members are not permitted to open bottles themselves at the winery. And no other alcohol other than OYC wines may be consumed at the winery.

Can I get my wine selections shipped to me?

Virtual Cellar Plan members with 12 bottles to pick up & Vintner’s Curated members can have their wines shipped for Free.  Additional shipping charges will be applied for more than 12 bottles. Please note that wine cannot be shipped to a PO Box, a signature and ID with proof of age are required at time of shipping delivery.  We can only ship to the following states:

If you choose the Monthly Wine Selection Option, your wines must be picked up at the winery.

PRICING/BILLING

What are the Club Fees for new Members?

We do not charge a sign up fee to join the club.

What are the monthly charges if I choose the Virtual Cellar Plan?

If you choose the Silver Level (one bottle per month), you will be billed $21.00 each month. If you choose the Gold Level (two bottles per month) you will be billed $38.00 each month. Prices subject to change upon advance notice.

What are the semi-annual charges if I choose the Vintner's Curated Plan?

If you choose the Silver Level (six bottle twice a year), you will be billed $130.00 in March and October of each year (or $90.00 in March and October of each year for Sweet Wine Selection). If you choose the Gold Level (two bottles per month) you will be billed $235.00 in March and October of each year (or $165.00 in March and October of each year for Sweet Wine Selection). Prices subject to change upon advance notice.

When am I billed for the Club wines if I choose the Virtual Cellar Plan?

Virtual Cellar club members are billed between the 22nd and 28th of the month for the next month’s selection.

When am I billed for the Club wines if I choose the Vintner's Curated Plan.

Vintner’s Curated Plan members are billed three weeks prior to selection pick up dates. Once in Fall (October) and Once in Spring (March) of each year.

EXCHANGING WINE SELECTIONS

If I choose the Virtual Cellar Plan, I can choose any wine I want or am I limited to only some?

Members can select any  wines priced up to $26 ($17.50 for grandfathered Sweet Wine club members) with no additional charge.

Select any bottle above $26 and pay the difference between the regular price of that wine and $26 ($17.50 for Sweet Wine club members)

 

If I choose the Vintner's Curated Plan, can I exchange one or more of the bottles for other wines?

No, we are a small winery and do not have the capacity to exchange bottles purchased as part of our Vintner’s Curated Packages.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Can I change my wine package to a different package?

Yes, you can change to a different package. You will need to email us at club@oldyorkcellars.com to let us know what package you would like to change to.

Can I cancel my Membership?

Members who choose the Virtual Cellar Plan may cancel on or prior to the 20th of any month after the second billing cycle. Monthly members are committed to monthly selections for at least two months. Members who cancel after the 20th of any month will still be billed for the next month’s selection and their cancellation will go into effect the following month. Members who choose the Vintner’s Curated Plan may cancel after they receive their second semi-annual package. Cancellations after a semi annual billing date will not be effective until the following billing date.

Gifting, Switching & Discounts

Can I purchase a club membership for somebody else?

We offer both 3-month and 6-month Silver Level Virtual Cellar Plan  memberships as gift items. Gifted memberships include all of the great discounts and benefits. Recipients may change or upgrade their gift memberships.

Can I switch from a Silver Level to Gold Level or Gold Level to Silver Level?

You may switch from a Silver Level to Gold Level or Gold Level to Silver Level at any time prior to the 20th of a month if you are a monthly Member and prior to a billing date if you are a Semi-Annual member. Changes after those dates will apply to the following billing date.
