Old York Cellars is proud to present Nicolo Sturiano known as H. Hargrove as our Artist in Residence for August and September. Hargrove was educated as a wine chemist at the Wine Institute of Marsala in his native land of Italy. He moved to the USA to work as a Wine Maker at a small vineyard in Upstate New York. While there he fell in love with the American countryside and was inspired to begin painting. He immediately displayed a natural talent, which, after years of refinement and a prolific output, has earned him an international reputation. Hargrove's work celebrates sensuous surfaces, an attention to detail, and a love of variety befitting a man who is passionate about wine and art. For his solo exhibition at Old York Cellars, Hargrove will be exhibiting vineyard landscapes, still lifes, pastoral scenes, and beach scenes. The exhibition will include both original paintings and limited edition reproductions.
